All-New Fourth-Generation 2013 GS 350 Injects New Level of Driving Excitement to the Lexus Line-Up

TORRANCE, CALIF. (August 23, 2012) -- Long the standard-bearer for luxury, sophistication and quality, Lexus adds dynamic performance as a defining characteristic with the introduction of the all-new 2013 GS 350. Equipped with a 306 horsepower 3.5-liter V6, a new suspension, Drive Mode Select and available Variable Gear Ratio Steering, the fourth-generation GS 350 feels at home on both the track and the street.
The transmission incorporates faster shifts, earlier torque converter lockup and downshift throttle blips. The new GS features a redesigned chassis and a wide, strong stance that rewards driver participation with crisp and precise handling. Engineers developed a more spacious interior environment while leaving exterior dimensions virtually unchanged to ensure excellent maneuverability. The 2013 Lexus GS 350 is available in rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations, and can be equipped with the available Premium, Luxury or F SPORT packages for greater personalization.
The available GS 350 F SPORT takes performance a step further without sacrificing the trademark Lexus ride comfort. The new GS 350 F SPORT features a sport-tuned suspension with firmer springs, larger front brakes with high-friction brake pads, an adaptive variable damping system, thicker anti-roll bars, a variable gear ratio steering system, bushing changes, and larger front brakes with high friction brake pads.
The GS 350 also features four driving modes that can be operated by toggling the new Lexus Drive Mode selector. In addition to the Normal mode, the following settings let the driver customize the driving experience:
Driving dynamics combined with a richly endowed interior with premium details makes the new GS a luxury car that will suit the needs of many drivers.  A next-generation Remote Touch with one-push confirmation is standard on all models and enables smooth, intuitive control of climate, audio, phone, optional navigation system and more. A standard rear back-up camera helps add security and convenience.  The new GS has more rear headroom, knee room, legroom and foot space than the previous GS while front and rear door openings have been revised for easier ingress and egress. Trunk space has been increased by almost 25 percent and can easily accommodate four golf bags. Trunk access is improved with a six-and-a-half-inch wider opening.
