Designed to track the sun throughout the day, these units generate clean energy while serving as a visible reminder of Toyota’s commitment to renewable solutions and Environmental Challenge 2050.

30 Years of Toyota Indiana: Restoring the Forest
What started as a simple vision has grown into something more at Toyota Indiana. By planting more than 130,900 native species of trees, the plant has transformed 225 acres around the facility into thriving forestland. Smart adjustments along the way, like refining planting methods and letting nature take its course, boosted tree survival while improving the site’s resilience. The program, which was so successful it earned Wildlife Habitat Council’s “Wildlife at Work” certification, has led to a healthier ecosystem and stronger community connections.

40 Years of Toyota Kentucky: The Sun and The King (And Queen)
Toyota Kentucky is helping monarch butterflies stay on course by creating Monarch Waystations. Starting in 2014, the plant developed “rest stops” filled with milkweed and nectar – both of which are critical for the iconic insect’s epic migration. Working with Monarch Watch, Toyota has expanded and sustained these habitats over the past several years, reinforcing its long‑term commitment to biodiversity, ecosystem health and community stewardship. That same environmental ethos is powering action on the ground today, including Toyota Kentucky’s new 30‑acre solar field, which generates enough clean energy to power about 1,400 homes
