TMC also announced that it will continue production in Japan of replacement parts and parts for overseas production.

Assembly of the three hybrid vehicles in Japan resumed on March 28, a little over two weeks after the devastating earthquake and tsunami struck northeastern Japan. Production of Japan-sourced parts for overseas plants resumed on March 14 and production in Japan of replacement parts needed to service Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles resumed on March 17.

In addition, TMC has announced it will resume limited production of selected vehicles for the Japan market at the Sagamihara Plant of Central Motor Co., Ltd. on April 11.

Toyota’s 13 North American vehicle assembly and engine plants are continuing to operate on normal two-shift schedules, although overtime and Saturday production have been cancelled.

TMC is continuing to assess the parts situation before making additional production decisions. We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
