Monte Kaehr is group vice president, Vehicle Development and Engineering for Toyota Motor North America, Research and Development (TMNA R&D) based in York Township, Michigan. In this role, he is responsible for vehicle development, design and engineering teams for Toyota’s North American operations.
Previously, Kaehr served as the group vice president, Advanced Mobility Research & Development, Toyota Motor North America, and prior to that, Toyota Sienna chief engineer.
Kaehr joined Toyota in 1992 as a design engineer in Japan and moved to Toyota’s North American Research & Development division in 1998 where he progressed through a series of positions in Body Engineering and Product Development.
Kaehr has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
