TORRANCE, Calif. – – The updated 2011 Avalon now has a new version of the HomeLink® universal garage door opener found an many current Toyota models. It allows for easy programming of the HomeLink® system by taking advantage of the LCD built into the rearview mirror for the standard backup camera.

 

Before the HomeLink® system can operate an owner’s garage door it must first be programmed to work with a particular door opener. Instructions to do this are provided in the Owner’s Manual. Earlier models have required owners to read the manual and then go through the programming steps.

 

With the new version, if an owner pushes a HomeLink® system button without having programmed the system, helpful step-by-step programming instructions will appear in the rearview mirror LCD. The instructions will guide the owner through the programming step quickly and accurately. Should the owner not wish to program the system at that time, the instructions will time-out after 15 seconds of inactivity.

 

The HomeLink® universal garage door opener is a handy convenience feature that allows the user to program it to operate up to three garage doors, or power gates – using the HomeLink® system buttons located in the vehicle. Owners who use this system will no longer need to carry remotes for each power door in the vehicle. This also eliminates the need to replace remote control batteries periodically.

 

Small enhancements such as the new LCD based instructions make using the many 2011 Avalon features even easier for the owner.
