PLANO, Texas, Feb. 13, 2017 – Jacqueline M. Thomas has been appointed group vice president, chief compliance officer for Toyota Motor North America (TMNA). Thomas is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership over multiple departments, including internal audit, compliance & ethics, regulatory compliance, customs/trade compliance, and assurance. Her division ensures compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures upholding Toyota’s commitment to integrity and principled performance. Thomas will continue to report to Jim Lentz, chief executive officer, TMNA.

Prior to her new position, Thomas served as vice president, chief compliance officer for TMNA. Thomas joined Toyota in 1999 as a financial projects manager and was promoted to internal audit director. Thomas subsequently held the positions of chief audit executive and vice president of corporate responsibility.
Prior to joining Toyota, Thomas worked at ARCO (Atlantic Richfield Company) in a variety of management positions, including procurement, financial administration, business management consulting, and internal audit.
Thomas earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
