Twenty-four participating Audubon sites nationwide will host TogetherGreen Volunteer Days in celebration of Earth Day to provide thousands with opportunities to take hands-on, local conservation action. Volunteer Days are a centerpiece of the TogetherGreen (http://www.togethergreen.org/) conservation alliance of Audubon and Toyota.

This series of days ? part of 240 taking place annually ? will occur in select cities across the country during the weekends of April 18th, April 25th and May 2^nd, continuing the momentum of volunteer activity which started in September 2008. Activities include habitat and trail restoration, river and lake clean-ups, invasive species removal, nest-box building, wildlife and plant surveys, and more!

?By connecting communities across America with the nature and resources that surround and sustain us, TogetherGreen Volunteer Days aim to launch a continuing cycle of positive environmental impact,? said Audubon President John Flicker. ?Through ongoing TogetherGreen volunteer offerings, we hope to engage people of all ages, from every community and all walks of life to create a truly diverse constituency for conservation.?

To-date, 5,850 TogetherGreen volunteers have donated more than 28,000 volunteer hours at 40 Audubon locations. Additionally, over 60 major partner organizations, including the Sierra Club, AmeriCorps, and the US Army Corps of Engineers have worked with TogetherGreen Volunteer Day participants, as well as local schools, businesses and government.

Hundreds of Toyota employees and their families from across the country have participated in the initial series of TogetherGreen volunteer events and will continue join the efforts over the five-year initiative.
