LEXINGTON, Ky. — Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) President Steve St. Angelo and nearly 100 participating children literally had a ball this past Saturday, April 18 as the Toyota Bluegrass Miracle League celebrated its fourth season.
The TBML is a non-profit corporation formed to give children, who are physically and/or mentally challenged, the opportunity to play baseball in an organized league. Toyota became the title sponsor of the TBML after approving a generous gift in 2005 which was used to build a beautiful and unique facility at Lexington?s Shillito Park. The field includes a wheelchair-friendly synthetic surface along with all of the accommodations needed for a great game of baseball.
Steve and Michele St. Angelo, along with TMMK?s Contributions Committee and their families, were on hand during the festivities to help make it a very special day for all of the children playing in this year?s league.
?You know it?s a great day when you look and see all the smiles on the faces of these precious children,? stated St. Angelo, who along with TMMK Manager Alonzo Allen served as a celebrity umpire. ?This program and the people who make it happen are having a very positive impact on this community.?
The league is open to children ages 5-19. For more information about the league visit http://www.bluegrassmiracleleague.org/.
