LOS ANGELES (Oct. 13, 2012) – A Toyota Tundra half-ton pickup truck without any special modifications successfully towed the space shuttle Endeavour and custom-built dolly -- a combined weight of nearly 300,000 pounds -- across a bridge spanning the nation’s busiest freeway on Friday night, Oct. 12. The tow was a result of a 20-year partnership between Toyota and the California Science Center to raise awareness of the space program and continue public education through exhibits and events.

TORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 11, 2012 — Toyota announced today that NASCAR television analyst and Top Gear U.S. edition co-host Rutledge Wood will announce the winner of the Toyota Racing Dream Build Challenge (www.ToyotaRacingDreamBuild.com), a vehicle modification competition pitting four top racing drivers and their dream cars against each other for charity. The awards ceremony will take place at Toyota’s press conference during the 2012 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas on Oct. 30.
Toyota Financial Services Sponsors ‘Spirit Day’ App for iPhone and Android, Mobilizing Users Against Bullying
TORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 10, 2012 – Toyota Financial Services (TFS) and the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) have teamed up to take a stand against bullying, joining hundreds of celebrities, media outlets, corporations, and organizations in doing the same. Together, the two entities launched the “Go Purple for #SpiritDay” app, available for both iPhone and Android smartphones. The TFS powered app provides users with anti-bullying resources, calls to action, and a tool that can turn photos purple. These purple photos can then be shared to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to show one’s support for and participation in the upcoming Spirit Day on Oct. 19.
