Future of Mobility on Display in Toyota Exhibit at 2016 North American International Auto Show
DETROIT, Jan. 7, 2016 – It’s the midway point of the second decade of the 21st century, and future mobility is beginning to come into sharp focus. Technology advancements are ushering in a wave of new conceptual ideas for how people might be transported in the long term, with a focus on clean power, greater safety and more convenience. Toyota Supports Critical Red Cross Assistance as Natural Disasters Push Thousands from Their Homes
Plano, Texas, Jan. 7, 2016 -- As communities across the South and the Great Plains face a barrage of natural disasters, Toyota is supporting the American Red Cross’s critical relief efforts in affected regions, such as North Texas and the Dallas area, including Plano, which is the site of the company’s new North American headquarters. Toyota’s support is also advancing relief efforts in other hard-hit regions where it operates, such as Alabama, Mississippi and Missouri. As a member of the American Red Cross Disaster Responder Program since 2014, Toyota has been making annual contributions of $250,000 so that the nonprofit organization is poised to provide immediate assistance to those affected by disasters, including food, shelter and emotional support, as well as help during the recovery process.

Toyota Research Institute Announces All-Star Leadership Team for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Research
Las Vegas, Jan. 5, 2016 -- The Toyota Research Institute (TRI) today announced the hiring of its technical leadership team, bringing together an all-star group of scientists and engineers to help drive research into artificial intelligence and robots. TRI CEO Gill Pratt introduced the technical team and initial TRI research programs in a press conference at the 2016 International Consumer Electronics Show. In addition to the technical team, TRI work will be guided by an Advisory Board of corporate, scientific and public policy leaders from around the world.
