Tetsuo “Ted” Ogawa is president and chief executive officer of Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (TMNA). In this role, Ogawa oversees all business for Toyota’s North America region, including Manufacturing, Research and Development, Sales, Marketing, Product Support, Digital Transformation, Mobility, and Corporate Resources.
Prior to that role, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer, TMNA.
In April of 2015, Ogawa was named Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) managing officer, deputy chief executive officer, China Region, and president, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (TMCI).
After joining Toyota in 1984, Ogawa’s roles included general manager, China Division, for Toyota Motor Corporation and serving as an expatriate from Japan at Toyota Motor Sales in Torrance, California.
From January 1996 to December 2001, he served as coordinator at New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI), a joint venture between General Motors and Toyota in Fremont, California.
In addition to his roles at TMNA, Ogawa is also an operating officer for TMC and a member of the Board of Directors for Joby Aviation and the Peterson Institute for International Economics.
He received a bachelor’s degree in commerce and management from Hitotsubashi University in Japan.
