Statement by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. at the Opening of the Multidistrict Litigation in U.S. District Court, Santa Ana, Calif.

TORRANCE, Calif, May 13, 2010 – Toyota is confident the legal process will be conducted with integrity and fairness.

During the course of these proceedings, we will hear a number of claims and charges, some made in court and others made outside the legal guidelines of the courtroom.

Recently we have seen instances where the facts did not support the initial claims and sensational reports. In the best interests of all those involved, it’s important to keep this in mind as the case proceeds and facts are presented.
