Toyota’s $500,000 workforce grant underscores milestone achievements

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (June 22, 2026) — Four decades strong, Toyota Kentucky continues moving forward, building on a legacy of investment, innovation and the people who have shaped its success.

Supported by $2 billion in investments announced over the past two years, the Georgetown plant expanded Toyota’s U.S. manufacturing footprint today with the start of production of the all-new RAV4 Hybrid. The manufacturer also broke ground on its next-generation paint facility, designed to become a global benchmark for the company by enhancing efficiency and product flexibility.

“Making our customers smile by delivering high-quality vehicles like the all-new RAV4 Hybrid has been our legacy for 40 years,” said Kerry Creech, president of Toyota Kentucky. “The milestones we celebrate today reflect our team’s commitment to sustainability and our unwavering promise to continue to deliver vehicles our customers love.”

The All-New RAV4, America’s Best-Selling Small SUV, Comes Home
Toyota Kentucky is increasing its role in meeting growing customer demand for electrified vehicles by adding assembly of the all-new RAV4 Hybrid. The plant’s evolving product lineup supports Toyota’s multi-pathway approach to electrification and will also launch the new Highlander Battery Electric Vehicle in September 2026.

State-of-the-Art Paint Facility
Construction kicks off on Toyota Kentucky’s next-generation paint facility that will reduce carbon emissions by 30 percent and save approximately 1.5 million gallons of water annually, enabling it to deliver more of the quality vehicles Toyota customers want in a more environmentally conscious way.

Workforce for the Future
To celebrate these milestones and support the next generation of talent, Toyota Kentucky is expanding its commitment to workforce development with a $500,000 grant to Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) in support of a new regional workforce training facility. The initiative will provide hands-on training to better equip students and upskill current workers across the Bluegrass region.

“Toyota’s investment reflects a deep commitment to our community and its future,” said Dr. Greg Feeney, Chancellor and CEO, BCTC. “The regional workforce training center is critical for preparing Central Kentucky’s workforce for today’s advanced manufacturing environment and the evolving challenges of the future. Through customized skills training we are creating more opportunities for career growth and strengthening the workforce that powers our region.”

40 Years Strong
With more than $12 billion in total investment and 15 million vehicles assembled, the plant stands as a flagship example of Toyota’s long-term commitment to U.S. manufacturing. Today, it employs nearly 10,000 proud Kentuckians.
