Part of Toyota’s global truck philosophy includes a simple idea – the right vehicle should support customers’ lifestyles.
Globally, Toyota’s truck lineup varies in size depending on the market. In North America, both the Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Tundra are popular mainstays. Beyond the continent, Toyota’s vehicle workhorses include ultra-compact trucks.
Together, these vehicles reveal just how a truck’s size and mission can vary from one market to another.
Here’s a closer look at Toyota’s global truck lineup and the different ways they get the job done.
The Micro Utility: Kei Truck
Designed to slip through incredibly narrow city streets and rural farm paths, Kei trucks deliver maximum efficiency in a micro-truck package.
At just 11.1 feet long and 4.8 feet wide, it’s roughly eight feet shorter than a full-size U.S. truck. Yet its tiny footprint doesn’t mean a small workload: powered by a highly efficient 660cc engine producing up to 63 horsepower, Kei trucks can carry loads of up to 600 pounds.
The Modular Workhorse: IMV0
Available in Southeast Asia, its back-to-basics, highly modular chassis is sold as a “blank canvas,” giving buyers the freedom to bolt on whatever they need — from food truck boxes to flatbeds.
At 14.8 feet long and 5.8 feet wide, the IMV0 is roughly the same size as the classic Toyota pickups Americans loved in the 1990s. It’s a pure, unpretentious truck built for hard labor and ultimate customization.
A Series of Pickup Trucks: Hilux
Toyota’s Hilux — historically styled Hi-Lux — is a pickup truck series produced and marketed by the Japanese automaker.
Sold in more than 140 countries worldwide, the Hilux remains unavailable in the United States due to import tariffs and emissions regulations.
The Lifestyle Adventurer: Tacoma
Currently America’s best-selling midsize truck, the Toyota Tacoma is designed to balance daily driving and lifestyle utility with serious off-road capability.
Measuring between 17.8 and 18.8 feet long and nearly 6.4 feet wide, Tacoma reflects U.S. expectations — larger engines, advanced features, comfortable interiors and spacious crew cabs.
The Heavy Hauler: Tundra
Toyota’s flagship full-size heavy hauler – the Toyota Tundra – is built specifically for the North American market, combining the strength to tow heavy trailers and hefty payloads in total comfort.
It’s the giant of the family. Measuring up to 21 feet long and more than 6.7 feet wide, its footprint is so substantial that you could almost park a Kei truck inside a Tundra bed.
From Kei truck’s hyper-efficient footprint to the IMV0’s blank-canvas modularity and the Tundra’s heavy-duty capability, Toyota continues to build trucks tailored to the environments and needs of customers around the globe.
