PLANO, Texas (Aug. 4, 2026) – Smooth driving, electric exhilaration, and SUV practicality enhance every drive in the 2027 Toyota bZ battery electric vehicle (BEV). Returning for its fifth year in the lineup, the 2027 bZ remains unchanged from the prior model year. It is available in XLE and Limited grades in a choice of Front- or All-Wheel Drive (FWD or AWD).

The 2027 Toyota bZ reflects Toyota’s ongoing approach to electrification: useful range, accessible charging, everyday comfort, and a driving experience that inspires confidence. It plays a central role in Toyota’s commitment to electrification, giving customers an EV that fits seamlessly into real life. It is also part of Toyota’s multi-pathway approach to electrification as one of three BEV models that reside alongside 15 hybrid and two plug-in hybrid models, offering customers a variety of electrified vehicle options to best fit their needs.

At the heart of the bZ is Toyota’s continued focus on real-world usability. Among its all-electric driving range options are the feature-packed Limited AWD model with a manufacturer-estimated 278-mile total driving range rating or the go-the-distance XLE FWD Plus with a manufacturer-estimated total driving range rating of 314 miles. Available battery sizes include a 74.7-kWh unit on the XLE AWD and FWD Plus, Limited AWD and FWD models, and a 57.7-kWh unit on the XLE FWD model.

The bZ is equipped with the North American Charging System (NACS) for access to most high-speed chargers across America. The 2027 bZ also has battery preconditioning to help make high-speed charging more seamless in a variety of conditions.

The 2027 Toyota bZ features a sleek exterior that emphasizes a low and planted stance. Its front-end design delivers a sleek, contemporary look with a hammerhead hood and standard LED light bar. While available details such as distinctive wheel treatments, black accents, and available two-tone styling help differentiate grades and personalize the vehicle’s appearance.

It also has a color keyed front center bumper, thin lower grille, and rear spoiler, standard. Color matched overfenders are also available. There is privacy glass on all rear side, quarter, and liftgate windows for added privacy. The overall result is an electric SUV with a polished, aerodynamic profile that looks purpose-built for the modern era while remaining unmistakably Toyota.

Passenger and cargo space are practical for everyday use, with 42.1 inches of front legroom, 35.3 inches of rear legroom, and 27.7 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row (without subwoofer). The rear cargo area has 56.9 cubic feet of space with the second row down (without subwoofer).

Front-wheel-drive models produce either 165 total system horsepower (XLW FWD grade) or 221 total system horsepower (XLW FWD Plus and Limited FWD), while available all-wheel-drive models deliver up to 338 total system horsepower, giving the bZ strong acceleration and confident passing power.

Toyota engineers have also tuned the bZ for a refined ride and stable handling. Toyota’s BEV-dedicated e-TNGA platform supports a low center of gravity and a rigid foundation by placing the battery pack flat under the floor. The 2027 bZ has a standard North American Charging System (NACS) port. Under ideal conditions, DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.** The model also has Plug & Charge*** capability, which helps streamline the charging experience at supported networks.

The 2027 Toyota bZ has a standard 14-inch touchscreen featuring the Toyota Audio Multimedia system, developed by the Texas-based Toyota Connected North America team. A JBL® premium audio system with 9-speakers (including subwoofer) and amplifier is optional on the Limited grade models.

Interior tech features include standard dual Qi® wireless charging with enhanced power output, multiple USB-C ports, and a 120V/1500W AC outlet in the rear cargo area. It has a top-mount Multi-Information Display (MID) with indicators and 7-inch customizable LCD display with speedometer, charge meter, power output meter, drive mode indicators, charging information and more.

Toyota’s 36-month/36,000-mile basic new-vehicle warranty applies to all components other than normal wear and maintenance items. Additional 60-month warranties cover the powertrain for 60,000 miles and corrosion with no mileage limitation.
