PLANO, Texas (Oct. 20, 2026) — Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain model year 2022-2026 Sienna seven-passenger vehicles. Approximately 228,000 vehicles are involved in the recall for the U.S.

Deployment of the seat belt pretensioners in the two second-row seats of the subject vehicles can cause the seatback recliner mechanisms to unlock in certain high-speed frontal crashes under specific deployment timing conditions. A seatback that is not secured in a locked position may fail to properly restrain occupants, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

All known owners of the subject vehicles will be notified to return their vehicle to a Toyota dealer. For all involved vehicles, the dealer will update the pretensioner software, at no cost.

For all involved vehicles, Toyota will notify customers by late-December 2026.

Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is current as of today’s filing date and is subject to change thereafter. To see if your vehicle is involved in a safety recall visit Toyota.com/recall or nhtsa.gov/recalls and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or license plate information.

For any additional questions, Toyota customer support is also available by calling the Toyota Brand Engagement Center (1-800-331-4331).
