TIMBERRR! Toyota Financial Services (TFS) celebrated the opening of its newest office space on July 14. This extension of the Toyota North America campus called “TFS North,” adds much-needed office space, additional parking and facilitates the ability to co-locate larger teams. Take a moment to learn about TFS North and you’ll find there’s more to the story than meets the eye.

TFS North does more than accommodate up to 1,000 TFS team members. The real story lies within the thoughtful appreciation for team member well-being and productivity throughout the building. Recognized as one of the largest mass timber office spaces in the United States, the building’s commitment to health and sustainability is more than just a feature. The extensive use of Southern Yellow Pine timber creates a warm and collaborative atmosphere that studies have suggested can lower stress levels and influence productivity.

Building Highlights
Located within eyeshot of existing TFS buildings in Plano, the seven-story, 242,000-square-foot, soon-to-be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certified building has a physical address (4401 Cirrus Way) that positions it as the first Toyota-occupied property within the city of Frisco, Texas.

Team members will enjoy a host of amenities, including a state-of-the-art gym and locker rooms, micro markets, furnished balconies, and a future restaurant. More subtle features include white noise systems that help reduce distractions and enhance concentration in open areas, window shades that adjust with the sun’s movement, and daylight harvesting that adjusts lighting to save energy.

An adjoining 800-space parking garage makes for easy parking and EV charging. Plus, soon-to-be-installed space counters will eliminate the classic pastime of driving in circles to find the elusive ‘unicorn’ spot, or any spot for that matter.

Purpose & Collaboration
“TFS North supports longer-term growth strategies, reflecting Toyota’s commitment to invest in a workplace that helps build and strengthen the organization for the future,” said Zipporah Weisbord, general manager, Experience Center Central (ECC). “The new space is not just about more desks; it is about creating the conditions for better teamwork, learning and scalability.”

Ron Banks, chief information security officer, has a team that is occupying TFS North, with the intent to build out a purposeful space for his new Security Operations Center (SOC). Banks said having his team made whole in a dedicated space to monitor and address security threats quickly with maximum security is key.

“I know our team is looking forward to utilizing the additional space to collaborate and ideate the evolution of our cyber capabilities,” he said.

Sharing the space with the ECC Customer and Dealer Service teams will be members of Data & Technology’s Information Security team and the Office of the Chief Technology Officer.

Built Around Team Members
“From the moment team members arrive, TFS North is designed to create a smoother, more welcoming experience,” said Mark Redford, Real Estate senior manager. “Inside, the building pairs beautiful design with thoughtful technology that supports comfort, connection, and performance.”

Tim Conlon, Real Estate senior manager, said that one of the most exciting priorities in the design of TFS North was creating a space that feels open, welcoming, and connected. “The natural wood structure was intentionally highlighted, and wide-open views were preserved throughout the office to bring warmth and character into the workplace,” he said. The overall result increases visibility, communication and collaboration, helping team members feel more connected to one another and to the environment around them.

Take a peek outside the TFS North walls and you’ll see the beginnings of a larger development effort that Mark Amshey, general manager, Dealer Relations & Sales, points to as more reasons to be excited about the future.

“As the surrounding area continues to develop, the additional amenities are expected to further enhance the employee experience and contribute to a more engaging and positive workplace,” he said.

Weisbord said the new space helps bridge the gap between HQ and TFS North and “leadership will be proactive in bringing activities to TFS North and ensuring its connection to HQ, while establishing TFS North as a destination spot for culture and connection.”

Move Timelines & Beyond
The initial wave of TFS North team members arrived on July 13, and move-ins will continue in the coming weeks.

Team members Dianna Porter and Allison Novotny have played an integral part in planning from day one, helping alleviate the burden that comes with a move of this size. “The move timeline prioritized business continuity by minimizing operational disruption, supporting a seamless transition for every team, and ensuring consistent communication at every stage,” Porter said.

TFS North was part of a broader, coordinated TFS expansion plan spanning multiple building projects across five locations, each receiving a consistent “execution excellence” experience.
