PLANO, Texas (July 8, 2026) — Toyota is conducting a safety recall campaign involving certain model year 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander and Lexus TX vehicles in North America. Approximately 5,400 vehicles are involved in this recall.
The rear axle carriers in the subject vehicles may not have been manufactured properly. A carrier can break at a certain attachment point which can affect rear vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash in some operating conditions.
All known owners of the subject vehicles will be notified to return their vehicles to a Toyota or Lexus dealer. For all involved vehicles, the dealer will inspect the rear axle carrier sub-assemblies for specific codes. Affected sub-assemblies will be replaced at no charge.
Owners of involved vehicles will be notified by early-September 2026.
Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is current as of today’s filing date and is subject to change thereafter.
