BEIJING (March 11, 2022) – At 32 years old, Team Toyota’s Oksana Masters earned her 15th Paralympic medal, winning the women’s sitting individual biathlon event on Friday at the Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.

Masters won her sixth career Paralympic gold medal with a time of 42:17.9, resulting in her fifth consecutive medal of the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games. She has now earned 15 career Paralympic medals, including six Paralympic gold medals, which ties her for the fifth-most Paralympic medals by a U.S. athlete.

“I knew it was going to be tough, and I just wanted USA to be one-two and I can’t wait to celebrate this,” said Masters of her gold medal performance.

Inclusive of summer and winter, Beijing 2022 is Masters’ sixth consecutive Games and she has won a Paralympic medal in all four of her sports – rowing, cross-country skiing, biathlon and cycling. The Louisville, Kentucky, native entered the Games as the most decorated athlete on the 2022 U.S. Paralympic Team roster and is one of four Global Team Toyota Athletes featured in the newest multi-episode video series from Olympic Channel and Toyota titled “From the Start.”
