Zach Choate is president of TABC, Inc. in Long Beach, California. Established in 1972, TABC represents Toyota’s first manufacturing operation in North America. He oversees the production of sheet metal, aluminum components and weld sub-assemblies for Toyota’s North American truck manufacturing facilities, along with catalytic converters and numerous service parts for legacy Toyota vehicles sold by Toyota Motor North America (TMNA).
Prior to his current role, Choate served as general manager of stamping and die development for TMNA Production Engineering. Choate’s held several leadership positions introducing major manufacturing initiatives including experience in strategic planning, new product introduction and equipment installation across Toyota’s North American operations.
Throughout his more than 20-year automotive career, he has played a key role in launching stamping operations in four new facility startups and successfully championed a venture company investment into Toyota’s portfolio, contributing expertise in organizational development, cost improvement strategies and process efficiency improvements.
Choate received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho.
