PLANO, Texas (Oct. 13, 2026) – The Toyota Camry returns for 2027, bringing together striking design, an exclusively hybrid powertrain and advanced technology across five distinct grades.
Available in LE, SE, Nightshade, XLE and XSE grades, the 2027 Camry offers Front-Wheel Drive or Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive across the lineup, giving customers a range of refined and sport-inspired options.
The 2027 Toyota Camry is expected to arrive at Toyota dealerships this fall. The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price, excluding Dealer Processing and Handling, starts at $29,700.
Efficient Toyota Hybrid System

The Toyota Camry is exclusively hybrid, pairing the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5) with a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine. The powertrain produces 225 net-combined horsepower on FWD models and 232 net-combined horsepower on AWD-equipped models. The LE FWD has a manufacturer-estimated 51 MPG combined rating.
THS 5 is tuned to provide a natural acceleration feel synchronized with engine speed. Power from the lithium-ion traction battery works through the electric motor generator to help deliver responsive acceleration while supporting Camry’s fuel-efficient performance.
Camry also features an electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT), tuned to intelligently find the appropriate ratio to pair with driver throttle input for a smooth and responsive driving experience.
Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive
For added capability and driver confidence, Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive is available across all five Camry grades. Designed to work seamlessly with THS 5, the system uses an electric motor generator on the rear axle and delivers 232 net-combined horsepower.
The system provides on-demand front-rear torque distribution based on driving conditions to help support acceleration, handling and stability. When the system detects slippery road conditions or a loss of tire grip, it can control torque distribution to the rear wheels to help provide additional traction.
Responsive Ride and Handling
The Camry pairs its efficient hybrid powertrain with responsive suspension and agile handling. All models feature an optimally tuned MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension.
SE, Nightshade and XSE grades add a sport-tuned suspension with specially tuned shock absorbers and springs for a more engaging driving experience.
An Electronically Controlled Braking system with integrated regenerative braking helps provide consistent brake feel and control.
Drivers can also tailor Camry’s driving characteristics with standard selectable NORMAL, ECO and SPORT driving modes.
Distinctive Camry Style

Designed by CALTY’s Newport Beach, California, and Ann Arbor, Michigan, studios, the ninth-generation Camry has a sleek, athletic look highlighted by Toyota’s distinctive hammerhead front design. LED headlights and daytime running lights come standard across the lineup.
LE and XLE grades emphasize Camry’s refined side. The LE features a black horizontal-bar front grille and 16-inch alloy wheels, while the XLE adds a dark metallic gray grille, 18-inch black and machine-finished alloy wheels and chrome-finished exterior accents.
The SE and XSE turn up Camry’s sporty character with sport-mesh front grilles, side sport rockers and black exterior accents. Functional front-side air ducts, canards, a rear spoiler and diffuser complement their athletic design. Both grades also feature exposed dual-tip exhaust. The SE rides on 18-inch black-finished alloy wheels, while the XSE comes equipped with 19-inch black and smoke gray-finished alloy wheels.
The Nightshade grade takes the sport-inspired look in a darker direction with Midnight Black Metallic exterior accents, unique 19-inch wheels and gloss-black badging. Midnight Black Metallic accents extend to elements including the front grille, air curtains, side canards, door handles, mirror caps, shark-fin antenna, rear lower sport diffuser and rear spoiler.
Exterior color choices include Ocean Gem, Heavy Metal, Ice Cap, Wind Chill Pearl, Celestial Silver Metallic, Underground, Midnight Black Metallic, Supersonic Red, Reservoir Blue and Dark Cosmos, with color availability varying by grade.
The Nightshade grade is available in Ice Cap, Supersonic Red and Midnight Black Metallic. XSE also offers select colors paired with a Midnight Black Metallic roof for a two-tone appearance.
