PARIS (Sept. 5, 2024) – Thirty-four-year-old Jarryd Wallace has medaled in consecutive Paralympic Games, earning a bronze medal in the Men’s Long Jump T64 at the Paralympic Games Paris 2024. Wallace jumped 7.49m in the finals to take home the bronze Wednesday night at Stade de France. 

“It’s crazy. It’s my fourth Games, and I was able to get onto the podium,” Wallace said. “It was a hard day on the track today. I had trouble managing my energy but there was a big one out there on the fourth jump. I just wish I had a centimeter back on the board.” 

Wallace claimed his first medal in his third Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020, taking home the bronze medal in the men’s 200m T64 event. The four-time Paralympian has now medaled once more, adding further hardware to his résumé with this result in the T64 Long Jump. 

Wallace has impressive accolades outside of the Paralympic Games, earning three gold medals (Men’s 200m T44in in 2017; Men’s 200m T44 and 4 x 100m Relay T42-46 in 2013) and two bronze medals (Men’s Long Jump T64 in 2023; Men’s 100m T44 in 2017) in world championship events.
