Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Mississippi, (TMMMS)
In this role, David is responsible for all manufacturing and administration functions at Toyota Mississippi.
The manufacturing facility, located in Blue Springs, produces the Corolla, Toyota’s highest volume selling vehicle globally.
Before joining Toyota Mississippi, Fernandes served as the president at Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) in Prospecton, South Africa. He also served as the plant president for Toyota Alabama.
Fernandes has 24 years’ experience with Toyota. He joined Toyota in 1998 as a group leader at the manufacturing plant in West Virginia. During his tenure, Fernandes has severed in multiple leadership roles, working at four different manufacturing plants and a global assignment in South Africa.
Prior to working at Toyota, Fernandes served as the general manager at Rolls-Royce Aircraft Engine Corporation.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, and a Master of Science in Business Administration from Purdue University in Indiana. Fernandes serves on the executive board of the CREATE Foundation, Mississippi Economic Council and Health Care Foundation of Northeast Mississippi.
He and his wife Hillary, reside in Tupelo, Mississippi and enjoy traveling.
