Snowboarding

Toby Miller

Toby Miller began snowboarding at six years old. His family felt he was so talented that they moved to Lake Tahoe, California two years later so that Miller was closer to the mountains to practice and compete.

In 2013, Miller won the U.S. Snowboard Association’s National Championships in halfpipe and in his World Cup debut at 16 years old, Miller placed ninth in the U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth Mountain.

Miller won his first Junior World Championships in 2018 after finishing runner-up twice before. He also finished fourth in the 2019 FIS Snowboard, Freestyle Ski and Freeski World Championships, just 1.25 points behind a podium finish. In that event, he was also the only American to qualify for the halfpipe snowboarding final.

Miller often trains with U.S. Olympian and snowboarding legend Shaun White and White’s coach, J.J. Thomas.
