About Chris Mazdzer
Chris Mazdzer grew up in Saranac Lake, New York. Mazdzer made history at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 when he won a silver medal — marking the first medal of any color for a U.S. man in singles luge. He is the first and currently only non-European to win a medal in the luge men’s single event.
Mazdzer was re-elected to his third term by his athlete peers to represent them on the executive board of both the US Luge Association and Federation of International Luge. In the spring of 2018, Mazdzer competed on “Dancing with the Stars” and placed fourth in the reality competition.
Mazdzer is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing and exploring the western United States in his Toyota 4Runner. He married his wife Mara Mazdzer in May 2020, and both welcomed son Nicolai Mazdzer into the world in April 2021.
