Toyota Production Engineering and Manufacturing Center Collaboration Space

Toyota’s new Production Engineering and Manufacturing Center in Georgetown, Ky., features many collaboration spaces for team members to meet, problem solve and get creative. In fact, about half of the 235,000 square foot building is collaboration spaces, while the other half is desk spaces.

Toyota’s new $80-million, state-of-the-art Production Engineering and Manufacturing Center in Georgetown, Ky., features many environmentally friendly efforts and sustainability programs including solar panels, skylights, a rainwater harvesting system, and a geothermal HVAC system. The building is the manufacturing nucleus for Toyota’s 14 North American plants, housing about half of the automaker’s engineers.

Toyota’s newly opened $80 million, 235,000 square foot state-of-the-art and environmentally-conscious Production Engineering and Manufacturing Center  in Georgetown, Ky., is the final building constructed under the “One Toyota” project, and is both a statement on Toyota’s commitment to investing in the future of American manufacturing and a home base for a key group of more than 600 Toyota engineers.

Toyota CEO Jim Lentz joined with Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin to unveil the automaker’s new $80-million North American Production Engineering and Manufacturing Center in Georgetown, Ky. The building houses more than 600 Toyota engineers who connect the dots between design and production of vehicles in 14 North American plants.

Toyota’s Production Engineering and Manufacturing Center in Georgetown, Ky., features about half desk space and half collaboration space. All desks are sit-to-stand and engineers are encouraged to get up and move to other spaces to meet with other teams, brainstorm and problem-solve. The $80 million building includes many environmentally conscious features such as solar panels, skylights, a rainwater harvesting system, and a geothermal HVAC system.
