Toyota Motor North America achieved LEED Platinum from the U.S. Green Building Council for green building techniques, such as sustainable landscaping. Exterior landscaping features drought-tolerant, North Texas indigenous plants like savannah, oaklands and wildflower meadows.  

Toyota achieved LEED Platinum from the U.S. Green Building Council for green building techniques at Toyota’s new headquarters campus in Plano, Texas. The 8.79-megawatt solar array provides up to 33 percent of daily electric needs for the campus and moves Toyota closer to achieving its global challenge to eliminate carbon emissions from all operations.

Toyota, VH1 Save The Music Foundation and Life is Beautiful Music & Art Festival, joined by GRAMMY-winning rock band Imagine Dragons, presented three Las Vegas area schools with a $40,000 music education grant that will provide music instruments to enhance each school’s music programs and expand student participation.

GRAMMY Award-winning rock band and Las Vegas natives Imagine Dragons surprised students with a performance of some of their popular songs at a school-wide assembly held at Ed W. Clark High School on Thursday, September 21.

National Public Lands Day (NPLD) – the country’s largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands, sponsored by Toyota, is takes places September 30. Toyota Team Members, Trina Mai and Travis Bailey pitch in at last year’s National Public Lands Day.

Jannette Hostettler, Toyota Indiana general manager, speaks to parents of local high school students who were invited to the plant for a Manufacturing Day parent’s night.  This year’s event focused specifically on women in manufacturing. Hostettler led a panel discussion that featured six women who work at the plant as engineers, production managers, skilled maintenance team members and group leaders.

The Huntsville plant announced a $90,000 grant to the organization on Manufacturing Day that will create a mobile fabrication lab to tour local schools and provide students with hands-on learning experiences.
