- Addition of Corolla Hybrid vehicles to recall
PLANO, Texas (Sept. 20, 2024) — Toyota is expanding a September 20, 2024 safety recall to add certain Corolla Hybrid vehicles produced from May 2022 to November 2024. Approximately 103,000 vehicles in the U.S. are added in the expansion. Previously, 42,000 Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicles produced between June 2022 to September 2024 were included in the recall.
In certain situations, during brake application when turning a corner, a driver may temporarily experience a hard brake pedal that can cause the stopping distance to be more than expected. This can increase the risk of a crash.
For all involved vehicles, Toyota dealers will update the programming of the skid control ECU software for the brake actuator, free of charge.
Owners of involved Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicles will be notified by late November 2024, and owners of involved Corolla Hybrid will be notified about this issue by late January 2025.
