Toyota statement regarding signing of United States-México-Canada Agreement (USMCA)

December 03, 2018
"Toyota is pleased the U.S., Mexico and Canada have signed a trilateral trade agreement to modernize North America’s manufacturing platform. This agreement is a critical step toward protecting auto-related jobs, including those of the 137,000 Americans who make their living working for Toyota. We encourage Congress to expeditiously review and approve USMCA. At the same time, we urge elimination of the threat of auto-related tariffs to provide much-needed certainty to the American auto industry.” – James Lentz, CEO, Toyota Motor North America
