Wataru Ozawa

Wataru Ozawa is the group vice president of Unit Function and Powertrain Division at the Toyota Motor North America Research & Development (TMNA R&D) center based in York Township, Michigan. In this position, Ozawa oversees unit function and the powertrain division including engine drivetrain, hybrid vehicle and fuel cell engineering for North American development.

Prior to this assignment, Mr. Ozawa was the senior vice president of Unit Function and the vice president of Powertrain and Regulation at TTC.

Ozawa joined TMC in 1988 and over the years has held several positions in engine development and product & resource planning.

Ozawa is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and earned a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology.
