Steven Curtis serves as vice president of corporate communications for Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc. He is responsible for executive, internal and marketing communications; digital and social media content; investor and stakeholder relations; and policy communications. He oversees teams based in California, New York and Washington, D.C.
Prior to his current position, Curtis was corporate manager of corporate communications at Toyota Motor North America (TMA), Inc. in New York City. He was responsible for field and product communications for Toyota, Lexus and Scion brands in Boston, New York, Central Atlantic and Southeast regions. He was also responsible for media relations, business communications, investor relations, multicultural outreach and public relations programs in support of Toyota’s philanthropic programs.
Curtis joined Toyota in 1999 and has held a variety of other positions, including rotational assignments at TMS in Torrance, Calif. where he managed business communications and media relations. He also had a two year assignment at Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in Japan, based in the company’s international public affairs division in Tokyo.
Prior to his career with Toyota, Curtis worked at a public relations agency based in New York City. He graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Government. He also holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Media Management from Fordham University.
