Group Vice President - Product Planning & Strategy

Andrew Coetzee is group vice president, product planning and strategy for Toyota Motor North America, Inc., and is responsible for product planning, pricing, connected vehicle technology (CVT) and advanced product strategy (APS). The newly integrated group combines to strengthen the synergy between the longer range focus of APS and vehicle planning.
Previously, he was vice president, Lexus Customer Service, responsible for brand development and customer services for Lexus, the luxury car division of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. (TMS). He was responsible for all activities in the Lexus customer satisfaction departments, as well as parts and services for dealers and field operations. He also oversaw Lexus brand development, including strategic brand planning, global brand coordination and new product launch management.
Earlier, Coetzee was the general manager of Lexus product planning at Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in Japan, where he was responsible for short and long term Lexus product planning for all global markets. He previously served as vice president of product planning for TMS and oversaw the development of new concepts and strategies for future Lexus, Toyota and Scion vehicles in addition to sales planning, new vehicle pricing and cross carline product planning.
Coetzee joined Toyota in 1988 as product planning administrator and was promoted to Toyota Division pricing manager two years later. He went on to hold a number of management and senior management positions throughout TMS. His regional experience also included a term as assistant general manager of the Chicago Regional Office.
A graduate of Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Mich., Coetzee earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also received a master’s degree in business from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.
