Andrew Coetzee is group vice president, product planning for Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., responsible for product planning, pricing, regulatory affairs, powertrain planning and advanced technology.

Previously, he was vice president, Lexus Customer Service, responsible for brand development and customer services for Lexus, the luxury car division of Toyota Motor Sales. He was responsible for all activities in the Lexus customer satisfaction departments, as well as parts and services for dealers and field operations. He also oversaw Lexus brand development, including strategic brand planning, global brand coordination and new product launch management.

Prior to that, Coetzee was the general manager of Lexus product planning at Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in Japan, where he was responsible for short and long term Lexus product planning for all global markets. He previously served as vice president of product planning for TMS and oversaw the development of new concepts and strategies for future Lexus, Toyota and Scion vehicles in addition to sales planning, new vehicle pricing and cross carline product planning.

Coetzee joined TMS in 1988 as product planning administrator. Two years later, he was promoted to Toyota Division pricing manager. Coetzee went on to hold a number of positions in corporate planning including strategic planning manager, national long range planning manager, and national product planning manager. In 1998, he was national manager of the market planning group in the Toyota Division marketing department. Coetzee became assistant general manager of the Chicago Region in April 1999, returning to TMS in 2001 as corporate manager, sales and production coordination.

A graduate of Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Mich., Coetzee earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also received a master’s degree in business from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.
