Gene Tabor is General Manager of Procurement Department 4 (Indirect and Production Materials). He is responsible for overseeing the procurement of construction, machinery, equipment, logistics, packaging, services, and production materials.
Prior to assuming his current position, Tabor held the position of General Manager of Supplier Diversity, Risk Management, System and Supplier Relations. Prior to that he was General Manager of Purchasing Project Management, Tooling, Cost Engineering, Service, Prototype & Export. Tabor was responsible for overseeing Purchasing’s New Model and Project Management; Tooling and Cost Engineering initiatives; and Prototype, Service and Export.
Tabor joined Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) in Georgetown in 1987, as Purchasing Manager, Parts and Components. He also oversaw Purchasing Activities such as TMMK's Materials and Facilities Purchasing and later TEMA’s Parts and Components Purchasing.
After graduating from Hanover College in 1976 with a Bachelor of Economics, he later earned a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University. Tabor currently sits on the Corporate Plus Committee, is a member of the board for the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Automotive Industry Action Group, and is a member of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Procurement Council.
