Lexus Brings Red Carpet Event to San Diego During U.S. Open

Inaugural Lexus Style Villa Sports event merges golf and entertainment worlds with sustainable living, Lexus style
 
Los Angeles, California, June 11, 2008 – The Lexus Style Villa Sports Presents the Power of h Gala, an entertainment event celebrating the brand’s hybrid philosophy, will debut in San Diego on June 14. The invitation-only soiree coincides with the U.S. Open and features an experiential prefabricated Lexus Hybrid Living home on the rooftop of the Hard Rock Hotel.
 
The Lexus Style Villa Sports event is part of the brand’s “power of h” initiative, which is Lexus’ campaign to increase awareness of its position as the only luxury automaker with low-emission hybrid vehicles. The event focal point is the pre-fabricated Lexus Hybrid Living home on the Hard RockHotel’s rooftop. It incorporates Lexus’ Hybrid Living partners who define and inspire a new ecoluxury.  The space reinforces the concept that with technology and innovation, we can create products that support the philosophy that a conscientious lifestyle and luxury are not mutually exclusive.
 
“The Lexus Style Villa Sports event will be the hot ticket during the U.S. Open tournament weekend,” states Dave Nordstrom, vice president of marketing for Lexus. “The event gives us the opportunity to showcase our hybrid vehicles through the ‘power of h’ in an engaging way and bring a Hollywood style, red carpet event to golf. We’re excited to provide this unique element to the weekend, where we are already involved as the automotive partner of the United States Golf Association.”
 
In addition to the Lexus Hybrid Living elements, Callaway Golf will turn the luxurious Hard Rock pool into a putting and chipping experience, while Full Swing Golf will have a full-size simulator on site. Cocktails will be provided by Ketel One Vodka and VeeV, the newest addition to the Hybrid Living portfolio and the world’s first Acai spirit.
 
Style Villa Sports is a joint venture between Peter Jacobsen Sports (PJS) and event marketing specialists Miami Marketing Group (MMG). The company’s mission is to bring high profile entertainment experiences to major sporting events throughout the year. Ed Kiernan (PJS) and Brian Gordon (MMG) conceptualized partnership in 2007 and plan to roll out 4-6 concepts by 2009 including major events in Tampa at Super Bowl, in Louisville for the Kentucky Derby, in New York for the 2009 U.S. Open and in Miami surrounding the culmination of the NASCAR season.
 
The Lexus Style Villa Home was created by Marmol Radzinor Prefab, manufacturer of easy-to-customize green and modern homes. They are built in the company’s factory and shipped complete with the choice of interior and exterior finishes, flooring, appliances, and more. Marmol Radzinor Prefab creates prefab homes with the environment in mind. Their modules are made from recycled steel and include other green materials such as recycled denim insulation, FSC-certified wood, low VOC Green Seal paint, solar panels, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), Energy Star-rate appliances, and more. Floor-to-ceiling windows capture natural light, while expansive decks provide shade for passive cooling and promote the best of indoor/outdoor living.
