Mike Goss is the vice president of external affairs and communications for Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America (TEMA).
 
Goss is responsible for messaging, media relations, speechwriting and executive support; issues management; community and local government relations; and philanthropy and visitor’s centers. He also oversees 10 component and assembly manufacturing sites and the Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Mich., which has responsibility for research and development, design and engineering.
 
In 2003, Goss joined TEMA as a media relations manager. He was later named general manager in 2010. During this time, he guided Toyota’s North American plants in their local and state public relations. He also served as a media spokesperson for North American manufacturing operations.
 
Goss was manager of public affairs and general affairs at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana during the facility’s formative years from 1998 through 2002.
           
He previously was vice president at Guthrie/Mayes Public Relations in Louisville, Ky. and also worked for The Wenz-Neely Company, a public relations firm in Louisville. Goss produced motor sports television programming seen on ESPN, The Nashville Network and in syndication.  He was also communications director for TNT Motor Sports in Louisville.
 
Goss served as sports editor and then managing editor of The Times-Tribune, a daily newspaper in Corbin, Ky., and was a reporter, columnist and photographer for the Barbourville (Ky.) Mountain-Advocate and the Whitley (Ky.) Republican weekly newspapers.
 
A 1980 graduate of Union College in Barbourville, Goss holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and English.
 
Goss is a 1998 graduate of Leadership Louisville.
