Joe Da Rosa is president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas, Inc.
Mr. Da Rosa began his career at Toyota as a production team member at TABC in Long Beach Calif., Toyota’s first North American manufacturing operation. He rotated through various supervisory positions in manufacturing, administration and production control.
In 1997 he transferred to Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America in Erlanger, Ky. as manager of planning and project management in production control. He was promoted to assistant general manager responsible for production planning and productivity for North American operations.
In 2001, Mr. Da Rosa transferred to Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana as assistant general manager of administration responsible for human resources. He was named general manager and assigned to the Mexico Project responsible for recruiting the management team, developing the plant management system and launch truck bed plant and Tacoma production. In 2002, he was assigned to Toyota Motor Manufacturing de Baja California (TMMBC), Toyota’s first wholly owned vehicle assembly plant in Mexico.
He was named vice president of manufacturing responsible for Tacoma pick-up truck production as well as weld, paint, assembly, quality operation and plant engineering. He was promoted to vice president of plant operations and then named president of TMMBC.
Mr. Da Rosa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. In addition to English Joe speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese.
