Randy Pflughaupt is senior vice president of production control at Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA). He is also president of Toyota Logistics Services (TLS), a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc. Pflughaupt also oversees the Distribution Operations Department (DOD) at TMS.
Pflughaupt is responsible for all of North American production from build to dealer delivery and Japan production planning to meet U.S. market demand.
Pflughaupt most recently served as group vice president, sales administration for TMS and managed various sales administration functions for both the Toyota and Lexus Division. Specifically, he oversaw retail market development, distribution operations, corporate fleet, TLS, Toyota Certified Used Vehicles (TCUV) and Toyota Rent a Car (TRAC). Pflughaupt was also responsible for international affiliate operations, including Toyota operations in Puerto Rico.
Since joining Toyota in 1982, Pflughaupt has held numerous positions with TMS, including district service manager, district manager, business management manager, and distribution manager at the Portland region. Pflughaupt also was general sales manager for the central Atlantic Toyota region, assistant general manager of Toyota’s Los Angeles region, and general manager of the San Francisco region. Upon returning to TMS headquarters in Torrance, Calif., he served as corporate manager for distribution operations, national sales and production manager, new era process team leader, distribution operations manager, sales administration manager and vice president of distribution operations. Pflughaupt also served as group vice president of Toyota marketing.
Pflughaupt earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore.
