Yasumori Ihara was born November 17, 1951. He graduated from Kyoto University with a bachelor’s degree in law in March 1975 and joined Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in April the same year.

Mr. Ihara was appointed general manager of the Engineering Support Team for Overseas Suppliers (ESTO), Purchasing Planning Division in January 1999. In January 2000, he became deputy general manager of the Purchasing Planning Division, and in January the following year he became deputy general manager of the Global Purchasing Planning Division.

In June 2001, Mr. Ihara became general manager of the Global Purchasing Planning Division. In January 2002, he became general manager of the Business Development Division. In June 2004, he was appointed to the position of managing officer. In June 2007, he became president of Toyota Transportation Co., Ltd., and was made an advisor of TMC. In June 2009, he became a senior managing director (a title that was changed to senior managing officer in June 2011). In June 2013, Mr. Ihara was made an executive vice president and a member of the board.
